Industrial Painter
We are currently seeking candidates for an Industrial Painter opening at a local steel mill in Youngstown, OH. The role focuses on surface prep, welding and fitting repairs, and priming/painting steel using HVLP spray equipment while following safety and PPE standards.
Shift: Any
Pay: $17.00 – $24.00/hour
Key Responsibilities:
File, grind, sand, and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
Inspect repaired vehicles for proper functioning, completion of work, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance of paint job, and test-drive vehicles to ensure proper alignment and handling
Fit and weld replacement parts into place, using wrenches and welding equipment, and grind down welds to smooth them, using power grinders and other tools
Prime and paint repaired surfaces, using HVLP paint spray guns and motorized sanders
Follow supervisors' instructions as to which parts to restore or replace and how much time the job should take
Observes all safety rules and regulations and keeps work area clean and orderly
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Ability to follow instructions provided by supervisor
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).

The ability to respond quickly to sounds
The ability to see and respond to dangerous situation
The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
