We are seeking a reliable and proactive Shipping Specialist for our client located in Akron, Ohio. This full-time, contract-to-hire position is perfect for someone with shipping experience who thrives on variety and hands-on work. Join an advanced coatings production company where your shipping expertise will ensure smooth and accurate deliveries. You’ll handle duties like verifying orders, packing, labeling, and operating shipping software. You will also assist with various tasks around the warehouse, including some lifting and light physical work. Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Pay
$20.00 per hour, with potential increase to $22 after hire

Key Responsibilities

• Verify order accuracy and inspect products for damage
• Package and label products for shipment, following DOT requirements
• Use computers to create shipping labels and documentation
• Operate shipping software (UPS, FedEx, USPS – training provided) to track shipments and update order statuses
• Assist with loading trucks, splitting duties among team members
• Occasionally operate a forklift to move or load products

Minimum Requirements

• Shipping experience, including clerical and physical tasks
• Experience using computers, with knowledge of UPS, FedEx, USPS shipping software preferred
• Experience with RF scanners
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
• Attention to detail

Nice to Have Skills

• Forklift experience (not certified required)
• Experience shipping hazardous materials

Other Requirements

• Ability to work on-site in Akron, OH
• Willingness to help with boxing, packaging, and some physical lifting
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing daily tasks
