Industrial Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join a manufacturing company in Akron, Ohio. This full-time role is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical maintenance experience, especially those coming from food manufacturing or chemical processing industries.

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide variety of industrial equipment across an 8-acre facility with more than 200 machines. Your work will include pipe fitting, mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and working with pumps, motors, hydraulics, hose fabrication, welding, and general equipment upkeep.

Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday

Pay: $20.00 per hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on processing equipment, including motors, pumps, hydraulic systems, and other industrial machinery
• Conduct pipe fitting, threading, welding, hose fabrication, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment across a large industrial campus
• Collaborate with internal maintenance team and assist third-party vendors when needed
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Minimum Requirements:

• Previous industrial maintenance experience
• Experience in chemical processing, plastics, rubber, or food manufacturing environments preferred
• Strong mechanical skills (motors, pumps, hydraulics, equipment repair)
• Ability to weld and perform pipe threading
• Experience with preventative maintenance
• Familiarity with hand and power tools
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented

Nice to Have Skills:

• Welding and pipe threading skills
• Experience working with hydraulic systems and pumps
• Troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Prior experience in food manufacturing or chemical processing industries (preferred but not required)
• No specific degree required; experience counts

Other Requirements:

• This is an on-site position
• Flexible to work regular shifts within the first shift hours
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
