Fab Shop Manager

We are seeking an experienced Fab Shop Manager to join our team in New Castle, Pennsylvania. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for manufacturing operations.

As Fab Shop Manager, you will oversee daily shop activities, coordinate production schedules, procure materials, and work closely with the project managers and shop foreman to ensure smooth workflow. Hours:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (overtime and weekends possible)

Pay:
$35.00 – $40.00/hr based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive new job start-ups from project managers and plan schedule accordingly
• Manage material procurement with company purchasing
• Operate shop burn table nesting programs; draw burnout shapes on CAD, save as DXF, and use Hypertherm Pro Nest software for burn programs
• Assist with material take-offs and cut sheets for fabrication processing
• Perform weekly inventory of gases and re-order as needed
• Conduct periodic inventory of weld wire and other materials for fabrication
• Collaborate with shop foreman on job start-ups, scheduling, and daily tasks
• Coordinate with project managers and dispatch for deliveries to customers or job sites

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or fab shop environment
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Ability to work hands-on with technical machines and programs

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with CAD software and CNC programming
• Knowledge of shop safety procedures and regulations

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior management or supervisory experience in fabrication or manufacturing environment

Other Requirements:

• On-site work only
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime, weekends, or Sundays when necessary
