Welder
Our client in Youngstown, a leader in steel fabrication and industrial manufacturing, is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Welder.
This role acts as the first point of contact for all issues within these departments and plays a critical part in driving productivity, quality, and team development.
Shift:
Any
40–50 hours per week
Pay:
$19–$26 per hour (depending on experience)
Bonus & Overtime available
Key Responsibilities:
• Reading and understanding blueprints and job specifications
• Measuring and cutting material to specifications
• Welding materials using the correct processes to join metals together
• Operating 4″ and 9″ grinders for long periods of time
• Checking finished work to ensure it falls within required tolerances
• Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assembly
• Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools
• Observing all safety rules and regulations and keeping the work area clean and orderly
Minimum Requirements:
• Ability to correctly read a tape measure
• Minimum 1 year of MIG welding experience
• Minimum 6 months of Flux Core / Dual Shield welding experience
• Ability to perform manual labor
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work proficiently at a fast pace
• Open-minded and willing to learn company processes
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to follow instructions provided by a supervisor
• Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Ability to stand, bend, move, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to work safely around machinery and production equipment
