CNC Machine Operator

CNC Machine Operator 
We are currently seeking candidates with CNC Machine experience for a position with a steel fabrication customer in Youngstown. The CNC Machine Operator will set up and operate CNC equipment and adjust machine controls to ensure parts conform to specified tolerances. This position reports directly to the designated Shift Supervisor. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, detail-oriented, and able to follow written and verbal work instructions in a fast-paced shop environment.

Shift: Any 
Pay: $19.00 – $21.00/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Position and secure workpieces on machines using holding devices, measuring instruments, hand tools, and hoists.
• Monitor machine/equipment operation to ensure products remain within tolerance.
• Review machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements.
• Select and set cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cut, and cutting tools based on machining instructions and/or knowledge of metal properties.
• Install tools in spindles and verify tooling is properly seated and ready for operation.
• Write and edit G-code and conversational programming as needed.
• Follow all safety requirements.
• Attend monthly all-shop meetings.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year CNC Machining experience.
• Experience using hand tools.
• Ability to follow oral and written work instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable attendance and a safety-first mindset.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the shift 
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods 
• Tolerance for working in varying temperatures 
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds and potential hazards 
• Proper use of personal protective equipment at all times
