Chemical Processing Specialist
We are currently seeking candidates with manufacturing or industrial cleaning experience for a Chemical Processing Specialist position at a coatings production facility in Akron. We are looking for someone who wants a career and is willing to train for taking on extra responsibility.

In this position, you will be responsible for cleaning and preparing tanks and containers for use, filling batches for shipment, and maintaining a safe and clean work area. 

Shift:

• 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday

Pay:

• $20/hour (raise to $23 once hired in)

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and prepare cans, tubs, and tanks using solvents and manual tools
• Ensure all materials are fully removed from containers and equipment
• Properly identify, separate, and store cleaned and unwashed containers
• Follow batch and packaging tickets to correctly fill batches by size or weight
• Wrap and label filled batches for shipment
• Submit required documentation and batch tickets after completion
• Maintain communication with production staff to prioritize cleaning and filling tasks
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely
• Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working in the food manufacturing or chemical processing industries strongly preferred
• Ability to read and follow batch and packaging instructions
• Batch making/chemical mixing experience preferred
• Basic math skills for accurate measuring and recording
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs frequently
• Comfortable using ladders, operating forklifts, and working in a manufacturing setting
• Must wear personal protective equipment including steel-toed boots and respirators
